  • WHAT IS GSF?

The key objective of GSF is to spur innovation and entrepreneurship. Our larger mission is to provide informed, knowledgeable mentorship capital to the start-ups.

    VISION

We seek to provide an opportunity to the best and brightest entrepreneurs to solve the most important problems for current and future generations.

    FOUNDERS

GSF is a platform for the founders by the founders. We try to live by a stringent set of values. We seek these values in the entrepreneurs we work with.

    A Sense of Direction

Exceptional Founders leave their footprints behind. We wish to back entrepreneurs who have a strong sense of purpose.

    High Integrity & High EQ

We like founders who act like owners. Such founders are perpetually curious, independent in their thinking and have not only high IQ but also an ability to consistently seek high quality output.

Build a team of "Ace" Players

We believe successful founders are people magnets and attract other "Ace" players.

    Disruptors and Ideators

We like founders who change and disrupt things. They constantly move forward. They have new ideas on how to do things better. They invent the future.

Build Long Term and Sustainable Value

We believe that founders who are secure in themselves create long term and sustainable value.

Risk Takers, Apolitical, Eclectic and Quirky

Visionary founders are risk-takers who take tough decisions in an environment of ambiguity. They seek transparency and are self-confident about their idiosyncrasies.

    FOUNDER

    RAJESH SAWHNEY

Rajesh is the founder of GSF, India's leading multi-city Tech Accelerator for the brightest tech startups in India. GSF provides tech startups mentorship from celebrated digital founders, initial capital and global exposure. At GSF, Rajesh is architecting the vital building blocks of a nascent early stage startup ecosystem in India.

Rajesh has made over 20 investments as an active and engaged angel investor, which include Viki (acquired by Rakutan for USD 225M), Little Eye Labs (acquired by Facebook), Mobstac, Pokkt, Silverpush, Hackerearth, Browntape, Overcart, Flinto and Timesaverz.

Rajesh is the host and curator of the two leading Tech/Startup conferences in Asia: #WhereDoWeGoNow in Bangalore and Global Superangels Forum in New Delhi.

His journey has been a continuum of re-invention waves. He brought private radio (Times FM) to India in the early nineties, redefining Indian youth culture. He was at the cusp of early Internet culture in India in the early 2000, building Indiatimes.com, the most valuable Internet business in India in 2005 (funded by Sequoia). Subsequently, Rajesh as the founding President of Reliance Entertainment, was at the center of a massive transformation of the Indian film industry, where he oversaw the corporatization of mom and pop Bollywood businesses into a multi-billion dollar industry. He oversaw the biggest investment deal (Dreamworks) between Hollywood and Bollywood.

Rajesh serves on the boards of Microland, Neilsoft, Indiamart, Reliance Broadcast Network, Live Media, and Autowale. He also advises Trident Capital, a prominent venture firm based in Palo Alto, California.

Rajesh is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School (AMP), and has a fellowship from the London School of Economics.

    ARE YOU THE ONE?

As newer technologies disrupt, displace and reshape economies, 'the next big thing' emerging as the hotbed of innovation are the frontier technologies. While what these encompass are ever evolving, today we associate frontier technologies with Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and an intersection of the above.

At GSF 6, our goal is to fund and mentor startups to build products that employ one or more of these frontier technologies. We look forward to seeing startups innovating at the intersection of many frontier technologies and industry verticals such as FinTech, Consumer, Health & Food, Education, and SaaS.

The startups applying for GSF 6 need to have a strong founding team in place with 2-3 members. Please check our website for what we look for in the founders.

Ideally, we would like the startups to have an MVP in place with some customer traction.

    MISSION STATEMENT

As newer technologies disrupt, displace and reshape economies, 'the next big thing' emerging as the hotbed of innovation are the frontier technologies. While what these encompass are ever evolving, today we associate frontier technologies with Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and an intersection of the above. The first quarter of 2016 has seen a 44% increase in funding of frontier technology startups.

At HackGSF, our goal is to encourage developers to build products that employ one or more of these frontier technologies. A crucial aspect of working with these technologies is the availability of large amounts of data. To this cause, we will provide the developers with key resources such as data and frameworks to successfully implement frontier technologies into their projects. The hackathon will be witness to talks and workshops curated by experts in these fields.

We look forward to seeing developers innovate at the intersection of many frontier technologies and industry verticals such as FinTech, Consumer, Health & Food, Education, and SaaS.
